Sony Ericsson Xperia arc S

A highlight in Sony Ericsson’s portfolio this year, Xperia arc S dazzles with stunning looks, enhanced entertainment experience and the latest Sony technology. Cosmetically identical to its predecessor, the sleek curvature of the stunningly slim Xperia arc fits nicely on the palm. Being slender, strong and lightweight is surely a strong plus point for potential customers.

Running on Android operating system, version 2.3.4 (Gingerbread) and equipped with a lightning fast 1.4GHz processor, users will not have to wait to be entertained. Now users can immediately download and play games, browse the web and watch videos, instead of watching them load. Armed with Reality Display with Mobile Bravia Engine, the 4.2″, LED back-lit screen is sharp and crisp with vibrant colors. Thanks to the reduced light reflection, the display is clear even in outdoors.

Sony Ericsson has mounted an impressive 8MP camera on the Arc S which is capable of snapping photos almost instantly. Capturing photos in poor light conditions will not be a problem because Sony’s Exmor R for mobile CMOS sensor allows users capture high quality, bright pictures. After capturing, users may view the shots on their TV via HDMI connection. arc S also enables users to shoot 3D images on the camera using Sony’s Sweep Panorama function. Although users may not be able to play the images back in 3D on the phone, they can show it on a 3D TV.

Although Xperia arc S excels in terms of sleek design, slick user interface and stadard functions, Xperia arc S lacks dual core processor, does not have a front-facing camera and there is no 1080p video recording, a feature that is standard for high end Android phones. Sony Ericsson has announced that the phone will receive Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Android, pretty soon. The Xperia arc S is available in white, black, blue and silver for $529.99 without a contract.
